Boyatt Wood
As a result of decaying wooden sheds the shop has been forced to vacate the council concrete shed to accommodate tenant storage. The result of this is to close the EDACA shop as of 4th October 2025 while a resolution is reached with all relevant stakeholders.
We hope this is temporary, but EDACA members are welcome to use other trading sheds at Lakeside, Underwood Road and Woodside during the closure.
We expect an update towards the end of October after Boyatt Wood Parish Council have next met to discuss the possible options.
Underwood Road
The whole site needs to be closed for 3 days for the removal of asbestos, but Bishopstoke Parish Council do not have a date for this yet.
The Council have advised that the works to replace the sheds and install additional parking will commence in October. It is proposed that a container will be delivered on October 24th and work will start on October 27th. Access for vehicles to the site during this period may be restricted as there will be limited parking available.
The contractors will deliver a 20ft container to the site that can be used for both storing Parish equipment and also as an temporary EDACA shop. There will clearly be disruption to the site and to the Trading shed, but we are hopeful that the EDACA shed will continue to trade once the site is cleared of asbestos.
The work should take no more than six weeks and we can look forward to a nice new building, toilet and better parking.
